¿Indicás mucho inhibidores de la bomba de protones IBP?

LAS INVESTIGACIONES HAN DEMOSTRADO QUE EL USO DE LOS INHIBIDORES DE LA BOMBA DE PROTONES POR LARGO TIEMPO NO ES INOCUO

Indicaciones para iniciar un IBP por más de 8 semanas:
• Sangrado gastrointestinal previo.
• Esófago de Barrett.
• Esofagitis Grado D (grave).
• Uso actual de AINEs.

Riesgo de uso a largo término de IBP

• infecciones entéricas (C. difficile, Campylobacter, Salmonella)
• Fracturas
• Neumonía (hospital o adquirida en la comunidad)
• Peritonitis bacteriana espontánea en pacientes con cirrosis
• Hipomagnesemia
• Nefritis intersticial aguda
• Deficiencia de vitamina B12

DEBEMOS COMENZAR A DESPRESCRIBIR IBP EN AQUELLOS PACIENTES QUE ESTAN USANDOLOS POR LARGO TIEMPO SIN INDICACION PRECISA.
